Initial information on the PBP 2027 route

On the occasion of the Awards Day of the Audax Club Parisien, organizer of the Paris Brest Paris Randonneur, its president Luc Coppin revealed the first details of the next edition of the event:

  • The route has been extensively reworked, with only the 2nd and 14th stages remaining unchanged from the 2023 edition,
  • A big loop in Brittany, which will be covered in a clockwise direction,
  • A stopover in Roz-sur-Couesnon and Pleine-Fougères, close to Mont Saint Michel, offering a beautiful view of the bay and its marvel,
  • A visit to Chartres, famous for its magnificent cathedral,

In addition to Rambouillet, the 11 towns that will host PBP route controls are: Mortagne-au-Perche, Villaines-la-Juhel, Fougères, Tinténiac, Pontivy (new), Pleyben (new), Brest, Callac (new), Loudéac, Roz-sur-Couesnon and Pleine-Fougères (new), Chartres (new). Representatives of these towns have expressed their motivation and enthusiasm for hosting Paris Brest Paris Randonneur. The detailed route will be unveiled in late 2026 or early 2027.

Luc Coppin also revealed some of the priorities and challenges for the next edition of PBP:

  • Priority given to the safety of participants, with in particular a separation of the outward and return routes over most of the route, to avoid cyclists crossing each other’s paths,
  • We’d like to see more women riding Paris Brest Paris, with a starting wave reserved for those who want it. All those who wish to benefit from it will be able to do so.
  • The intention to limit the use of vehicle assistance, with a total ban on such assistance on the route outside authorized areas, and penalties for offenders.
