New for PBP 2027 : Women are still underrepresented at Paris-Brest-Paris, despite possessing endurance levels comparable to men. To encourage greater female participation, the organization has decided to offer a special perk: an exclusive women-only start on Sunday at 17:15 in Wave F (the first 90-hour wave to depart).
Wave F is designed to accommodate as many participants as possible, ensuring that every woman who wishes to start in a female-only group can do so. We want to offer this “bubble of sisterhood” to those who appreciate it or who might feel apprehensive about being outnumbered in a start that is still largely male-dominated.
Women who are interested can pre-register specifically for this wave. Of course, there is no obligation! Those who prefer to ride with a male partner, in a mixed group, at a different time, or within a different time limit are free to do so.
While this slot is reserved for women during pre-registration, the rules remain the same: like all other participants, women in Wave F must validate their qualifying BRMs in 2027 to finalize their registration.
Finally, we highly recommend, Ladies (and you too, Gentlemen!), that you start riding BRMs as early as 2026. They serve as excellent training and will give you the best chance of crossing the finish line in August 2027.
