We are the Audax Club Parisien, a French cycling club, organizer of the Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur since 1931.
Our club has a long history, and has played an important role in the development of cycle tourism and long-distance cycling. It was founded in 1904, with the aim of developing the practice of bicycle tourism.
In 1921, the Audax Club Parisien created the first free-pace hikers’ patents which would become the BRM, practiced all over the world. In 1931, he organized the first Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur, of which the PBP 2027 will be the 21st edition.
We are obviously helped by partners for the organisation of this internationally renowned event: first and foremost the cities that welcome us at each stage on the route between Paris and Brest, without them the PBP could not be held. But also the FFVélo, a federation to which we are affiliated whose activity consists of promoting cycle tourism in France. And also by the hundreds of volunteers who are mobilized for Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur.
Our club is under the status of a non-profit association. This means that even if the PBP organization leads us to handle large sums of money to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the event, it does not make a profit and all the money is reinvested. All the members of the club are volunteers, motivated by a passion for cycling and PBP.
Today, more than 120 years old, the Audax Club Parisien is still a dynamic cycling club, focused on the promotion and practice of long-distance cycling.
