As indicated on the”Get Ready” page, pre-registrations will open progressively between January 16 and March 13, 2027. The precise opening date will depend on the longest BRM you have completed in 2026, and for those who have not validated a BRM in 2026 the opening date will be March 27, 2027. They will enable you to reserve your starting wave. Final entries will be accepted from May 29, 2027, provided you have completed at least 3 of the 4 compulsory qualifying BRMs for 2027.

Pre-registration allows you to reserve your place because the number of registrations will be limited to 8000 participants, and to be given priority for the choice of your starting wave (and therefore your starting time). They are not mandatory, but people who do not pre-register run the risk of not being able to participate.

It will be possible to change the departure time within the limit of available places (if a starting wave is full, you will not be able to book it). But be aware that on June 12, 2027, the places reserved during the pre-registrations that have not been confirmed by a final registration will be released and made available to all those who wish to do so. The experience of previous editions shows that there are many opportunities to change the starting time on this occasion.

Yes, the qualifying BRMs are mandatory for everyone. The BRM is the only endurance event format recognised and practiced throughout the world, it guarantees everyone identical conditions for qualifying for PARIS-BREST-PARIS. It is also an opportunity for beginners and experienced long-distance cyclists to meet, so it is a very appreciable and useful sharing of experience.

Yes, it will be available on the pre-registration and registration page.

The total price of registration for Paris-Brest-Paris will be decided in 2026. Pre-registration costs €50. You will find in the regulations, in article 6, the details of what the registration includes. Note that accommodation and catering services in the controls are not included, they will have to be paid separately.

Please note that you will not have to pay anything before pre-registration, starting in January 2027. This pre-registration fee (50€) will be non-refundable. The final registration fee (defined later) will be refundable in case of cancellation until July 3, 2027 with a deduction of 50€. From July 4, they will no longer be refundable. And unfortunately registrations cannot be transferred or resold.

Yes, you will need to have individual insurance with medical assistance and repatriation. You will find details on the subject in Article 11 of the Regulation, which we invite you to read in its entirety. If you are a member of a cycling club, check if your licence includes insurance. This is the case for all members of the FFVélo in France.

You’re right, we don’t see enough women on Paris-Brest-Paris. However, it is a very suitable event for women, especially since over long distances the physiological differences between men and women are diminishing and the resilience of women allows them to perform excellently. Women are therefore more than welcome at Paris-Brest-Paris, and to encourage their arrival, we have opened an exclusive departure wave for them (not compulsory, they remain free to register in the waves of their choice), and we will make sure that they can find suitable facilities in the controls.

Yes, you will be able to choose your starting wave according to the places available in them. Everything is explained there as well as in the regulations.

The first waves have a time limit of 80 hours because they are intended for the fastest participants. We want them to be as far ahead as possible, in order to spread out the peloton and thus make the passages through the controls and accommodations more fluid. Participants who start on Monday morning have a time limit of 84 hours because they will in principle have one less night to spend on the bike. But all the other participants (most of them) will have a time limit of 90 hours.

You must be present in Rambouillet the day before your departure for registration and collection of your equipment (reflective vest, frame plate, brevet card etc…). The precise schedule will be specified later. And on the day of departure, you will have to be present at least one hour before your departure time.

Yes, bikes will be checked 30 to 60 minutes before departure. The inspection will focus on safety (helmet, visibility vest and lights), the correct positioning of the frame plate and its electronic chip and the compliance of the machine with the regulations. The check will not concern the condition of your bike for which you remain solely responsible.

Yes, aerobars will be fully allowed on Paris-Brest-Paris. We just recommend not using them when riding behind someone so that you can react quickly in the event of emergency braking. Be careful!

The starting wave of special machines is reserved exclusively:
– velomobiles, recumbent bikes, trikes and elliptical bikes,
– multi-seater bicycles: tandems, triplets, etc.,
– folding bikes, scooters… as well as the bikes of the “Concours de Machines” if it takes place on the occasion of Paris-Brest-Paris 2027.
If you have any doubts about your machine, please do not hesitate to contact us and ask us the question.

Only human-powered machines are accepted (electric assistance is prohibited). The details of the machines accepted are specified in article 8 of the regulations, in case of doubt do not hesitate to ask us.
If your question is about the type of bike to take, we recommend using a road bike or a gravel bike, with a geometry adapted to your morphology. Prioritize comfort over performance.

The entire journey is on asphalt, so bring “road” type tyres, rolling and comfortable. If your bike accepts wide tires (28 mm and above), don’t hesitate to mount them, you will benefit more comfort.

To date, bag drops are not planned for Paris-Brest-Paris.

Paris-Brest-Paris is a self supported randonnée, so support vehicles are prohibited on the route. Assistance by vehicle is only allowed in the control cities, if it is declared during registration. In the event of proven assistance on the course, you risk disqualification.

Most of the controls will offer catering and accommodation services (for a fee), but not all. Refer to the stages chart to see what each city will offer.

Yes, the route will be signposted. However, some arrows may fall or disappear, so we recommend that you carry a GPS device with you in which you have downloaded the route.

Yes, we will give you a frame plate with an electronic chip at the start to record your passage through the controls (be careful, it will not be a continuous tracking). Your family and friends will be able to see your progress on a dedicated web page that will be communicated to you before departure.

Paris-Brest-Paris is a self supported event, without assistance, so it will be up to you to manage your return to Rambouillet. Of course, if we can, we will help you, but your return remains your responsibility.

If you have not yet completed the route when reaching your time limit, we recommend that you continue this beautiful adventure to the end if you do not have too much distance left and you are still in good shape . We will still be there in Rambouillet several hours after the final deadline to welcome you and congratulate you on what will remain a personal success, even few hours after the time limit. But if you’re really exhausted from all the miles you’ve travelled, it might be wiser to stop and catch a train to Rambouillet.

It will take us several weeks after the end of Paris-Brest-Paris to validate and publish the official results. They will not include a ranking, as Paris-Brest-Paris is not a race, but you will find the times achieved by each homologated participant. And don’t worry, at the finish you will be given a beautiful medal that you can proudly show to your loved ones!
